It's Tuesday, I'm in Love!

One of my new favorite websites for a little friendly fashion competition is EVERYBODY, everywear, where the fashion-obsessed are invited to put their best food forward in sharing their personal style, as well as gain inspiration from other bloggers.  I first participated in the fun when I styled this vintage white dress which belonged to my Grandmother.  On Valentine's Day, this month's EVERYBODY, everwear challenge called for color.  Pink + Red to be specific.  I have a bit of an obsession with color.
And today...well, I'm tickled pink.

My Inspiration for the look on this day of love - the out of this world sexy and lovely Brigitte Bardot.

With some killer style instincts from one of J. Crew at South Park Mall's
very own personal stylists, basics for the ensemble were cultivated.

As we perused the store for all things red and pink, I saw this swim suit.
Call it love at first sight.  I snagged it immediately with the thought of styling it like a bustier.

Heart throb smocked tank
J. Crew carries these adorable jeans in a rainbow of colors...

Toothpick Jean
We found this cardigan pretty in pink...

...then fabulous pumps and a belt to pull all articles of clothing together.

What could be more romantic than Poems of Love
by one of literature's greatest influences, William Shakespeare?

Would you believe that I am actually performing a stomach crunch here?
I do love to multi-task.

The necklace, my own, was purchased of all places from the gift shop at my church!
I have also seen the necklace, both in red and turquoise,
at the Queen City's own savvy consignment boutique, J.T. Posh.

All wrist bangles are my own, with the exception of this floral lovely from J. Crew.

How's my Bardot?

Do you have any special plans for Valentine's Day this year?  I think I'll take a jog in the free Love Connection Run sponsored by the Queen City's own Run For Your Life in Dilworth.  Refreshing for the mind, body and soul.  I wish you and your loved ones a very colorful and most lovely Valentine's Day!

For the love of nothing more stylish in the world than L.O.V.E... xo Whitley

  1. Some randoms for you - just found you thru EBEW, and love your outfit - the swimsuit as bustier is genius. Also love that in the first photo, the way your button down is opened at the top makes the bustier underneath look like a heart. Finally? Since I'm new to your blog, I don't know yet if you're photographing yourself at home, but the decor? ROCKS. I want those lamps. True story.

    merci!

    1. Hi Shannan! You freaking ROCK! Thank for you for the awesome comments... Don't you just LOVE the swimsuit as bustier? I did not catch the sweater in shape of a heart, so you are genius!... So hot ;) And, thank you for the kind complement on the lamps. Actually, the hubs and I made them! I saw them (as tall vases or something of the sorts) at Home Goods, and fell in love with them in my pursuit of bright colors for my new living/dining room. What, however, would I do with them? I put them on the table next to the lamps to take a picture, and had an "Ah Ha!" moment, and voila!... I'll make them into lamps. Researched, got a lamp kit and put most wonderful man in the world to work. Thank you! I'll be sure to post about them. Thank you again!! PS--Will you reply to this to let me know my Reply is going through?

    2. Got it, mamacita. Vases turned lamps? Uh-maz-ing. I loves me some Home Goods. I want to run there right this minute and find them. Could use some orange vase/lamps - I'll call them vamps - in my life.

      Ciao!

    1. Thank you my dear! ... A fabulous mommy of 3 friend actually made that comment in looking at the picture, and so I saw it befitting that she would make a cameo on the blog post :)... pretty funny, right? Thank you for your kind words! If you really want the necklace, I've connected with J.T. Posh Boutique here in the Queen City, and they will be ordering more based on demand! I hear ivory will be in next week, soon to follow in Coral and Turquoise. They could probably ship it to you... You will die to know that it is a steal at UNDER $50. It was hard for me not to purchase one in every color!! Thank you, again, for your kind words. xx-Whitley
