Could there be a greater fashion delimna than what to wear to a Super Bowl party?  Of course there could, but any occasion to get in the spirit and make some silly fun, you know, is a fashion opportunity waiting to be had by me!  A pair of well fit jeans, your favorite boots, and an oversized comfortable shirt is all you need to cheer on your favorite team.  And this year, if you're not sure who you're routing for, you can always create your own Super Bowl pool and bet on what type of hat Bruno Mars will be wearing.  A special thanks to Coach Kenny for helping keep me in proper (I hope!) form.

Whatever you're watching the big game tonight, be safe and have fun!

On The Farm

Donna and I shot these family photos last spring at my Dad's house.  Paw Paw's Massey was parked in the shed, so cousin Russ drove his new big blue Ford over to Dad's for an all hands on deck photo shoot in efforts to get Garden & Gun Magazine's attention.  My dream job would be styling and/or writing for them. Don't y'all think they totally need me?  Hoping they'll soon bite in my relentless pursuit!  Take a look and let me know what you think.

Not too long ago, thanks to the wonderful world of Facebook, I reconnected with an old friend. Since we grew up in the same town and graduated from the same college, much of the subject matter for Roy's photography kept catching my eye.  I was so excited when we simultaneously agreed, let's collaborate!  The town of Chapel Hill is fairly rural, and these boots were the first thing to come to mind.  I hopped on over to Belk to scour their Free People section and knew right away what I wanted to do with this garb.  If you are ever in the Triangle region of North Carolina, put The Fearrington House Inn and Village on your list. Such a fun day under cool Carolina blue skies.  Nothing could be finer.

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my friend Sonya Barnes at the 10 year anniversary party for her image consulting firm, Harris & Barnes.  This vintage frock from hong kong vintage has been stowed away in my closet since I purchased it almost a year ago.  I always imagined wearing it to a Cinco de Mayo party or some similar festivity, but it jumped right out at me on this particular evening.  Perhaps not the most logical pairing (some things remain), the boots made a leap for me too.  And the clutch.  I like it when my clothes jump out at me, and I don't have to jump at them or jump up and down, because I am frustrated with them.  How about you?  Do you agree?  Do certain things in your wardrobe jump out at you?  More here from hong kong vintage.
