Do you shop small?  As serial star-gazing entreprenuer it is something I truly believe in, and living in here the Queen City we have the luxury of so many hip one of a kind businesses from which to choose. The Saturday after Thanksgiving was first declared Small Business Saturday in 2010, and so tomorrow I encourage you to eat, drink, shop, splurge; do it all... local!  I’ve had wonderful opportunities to collaborate with some really outstanding businesses around town. Here are just a few, so please do pay them a visit, whether you’re doing your holiday shopping or recovering from it!

This photo shoot is the third and final group of photos taken with the very debonair Jason Locust. Donning some of our finest garments, mine all inherited pieces from family, and Jason's, a collection of some of his favorite pieces, Reid's Fine Foods served as the perfect location for our throwback in time. One of Charlotte's oldest neighborhood anchors, a visit to Reid's is a treat and pleasure in every way.  If you haven't been, you must.  Treat yourself to some of the region's freshest produce, rarest cuts of meat or sweetest treats fresh made by some of Charlotte's best bakers.  To top it off, take home a unique bottle of wine, or have a glass in the appropriately posh seating area designed by one of Charlotte's finest in interiors, Barrie Benson.  Don't forget to put your most fashionable foot forward, and have a lovely time!

I had so much fun shooting with Jason and Donna at Reid's Fine Foods, Charlotte's original hometown specialty food store.  You all know how much know my pension for all things refined and vintage, and this love affair does not only pertain to clothes. Founded in 1928, Reid's is a living, eating, drinking, celebrated long-standing member of the Charlotte community.  Reid's is known for their award winning butcher and wine shops, as well as a destination for on-site cooking and tasting programs. Reid's is friendly service wrapped in southern style; a modern day nod to a time when things were a little slower, more simple, always classic and never lacking for style. Reid's ambiance is transformed by one of my favorite designers, Charlotte's own Barrie Benson, by representation of her swank signature style throughout the atmosphere. Head to Reid's for all your shopping needs, your next wine tasting, date night or girls night out.  You will not want to return from such a delightful step back in time.
