It's okay. I'm not ashamed to admit it, and this is just one of three four closets that house my clothes.  I am not a hoarder by any means, though this closet might seem to indicate otherwise.  As part of my job as personal stylist, I purge closets with clients all the time.  You don't need a closet full of things you never wear. It is mind cluttering, overwhelming, annnoying and wasteful. My personal wardrobe comes in handy often with my work as a wardrobe stylist, and I will never ever rid of any of my Grandmother's or Great Grandmother's clothes.  That doesn't mean I wouldn't love a beautiful, more  organized closet however... Oh, how I would!

I am really looking forward to the upcoming Lunch and Learn, Thursday, September 19, with Simplicity Organizers and Closet Log. Together we will share tips and strategies to help you create a closet of personal style. Simplicity Organizers will discuss how to organize the keepers and donate or consign the rest. I will next explain how to streamline your wardrobe in order to help determine your own personal style. Finally, we will unveil Closet Log, a new site that catalogs your wardrobe all from your PC or heldheld device! Whether your style is girly, glam, classic or fashion forward, or you are still working to figure it out, please join us. We will have a great time getting it all organized! Click HERE to register.

FOUR Magazine Feature

I am so excited to be featured in the current issue of FOUR Magazine.  Blown away might best describe the feeling.  If you are not familiar with this publication, it is exquisite in every way. Available four times a year, the publication is named so as it depicts the "collaborative fusion of provacative and unapologetic design, fashion, art and culture"... as it provides "an uleashing from the status quo."  This is my kind of magazine, and if you share an affection for this kind of zest, I think it will be yours too.  If you are in the Queen City, I would love for you to grab your own copy here, and let me know what you think!

A huge thank you to Four Magazine.  Kudos to photographer Joshua Galloway. You are young, hard working, polite and kind.  Your future is so bright, friend! Lastly, thank you to perhaps my favorite little shop in town, Poole Shop, for lending some out of this world threads and styling talent.

Thanks so much for being here.  Pinch me please...

Styling Courtney Spencer

Last weekend I had a wonderful time working with this fresh-faced American beauty, Courtney Spencer. Styling Courtney in an old house dress that belonged to my Grandmother, a few of my own frocks, and some Free People items from Belk Southpark, I headed back to the family farm with my team for some nature-inspired casual moments.  The day was just as lovely as it apperas here, captured in photos by Doug Brooks and through hair and make up artistry by Deme Fourtounis.  Courtney looks so sweet and lovely to me in this last photo.  This was one of my favorite shoots to date.

Thanks for much for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Whitley:
Dress and Earrings: Both vintage, thanks to Frock Shop. Clutch: JJ Winters. Shoes: Stuart Weitzman. Rings: Custom by Diamonds Direct.  Hair and Makeup: By Cassie Hayden.

Matt:
Suit, Shirt and Shoes: Matt's own. Tie and Pocket Square: c/o of Taylor, Richards & Conger

You may recognize this peach stunner from a previous shoot in which I used the dress in styling Victoria Vesce, Miss North Carolina United States. I originally purchased the dress for myself from my friend Caroline over at Frock Shop, but after I saw Victoria wearing it, I decided it had to be hers.  I can't wait to see her flawlessly donning it in more photos to come.  In the meantime, if you are looking for some unbelieveable one of a kind frocks of your own, dating from the 1920's through the 1990's, take this as your official tip to get on over to Frock Shop.  A house full of treasures aways you.

Shirt: Cynthia Rowley. Jacket: My Dad's shirt. Shorts: Jessica Simpson (similar). Boots: Corral. Sundlasses: Blinde (similar). Bracelets: Cuff from Sloan Boutique, all others belonged to my Grandmother. Rings: Melinda Maria, custom from Diamonds Direct, Tiffany. Necklaces: Thanks to Melvin Jewelry, my Grandmother's ring. Earrings: Bauble Bar.

I had to buy this I Love You silk scarf print Cynthia Rowley blouse after I first met the designer in Charleston.  I would describe this outfit as one of my usual trainwrecks.  On most occasions getting dressed I blindly just start grabbing stuff from my closet, and throw it on my body.  These photos are from a series Donna and I had fun shooting at my Dad's house.  I hope they will land me on Garden & Gun's radar; a dream come true collaboration.

Love you for being here, Whitley
