New Year's Greens

(Click on each image for original post)

In true southern fashion, what New Year's meal is complete without a big 'ole hearty pot of
fat-soaked collard greens?  Take fashion inspiration from your surroundings; even your food!

Thank you SO much for all the Facebook love!!  With two weeks remaining in 2012, I set out to try to reach 1,000 thumbs ups by 2013.  At the time, 780 was the number; a high goal on which to set sights.  The power of grass roots and your support made it happen in about a weeks time.  If you are one of those new thumbs up, right back atcha!  I hope you will enjoy visiting the Queen City Style as much as I enjoy sharing it with you.

Here's tomade a carefree, creative and Happy, Happy New Year!
I can't wait to share with you some of the fun projects in store for the Queen City Style!
Many blessings and lots of love,
xx-Whitley

  5. Being English, my mom always makes a roast lamb on New Year's Day, which my parents eat with mint jelly (also VERY green!) Well I am now southern enough I guess that I have to have my lamb with barbecue sauce instead! Happy New Years!

  10. Hi Whitley,
I just want to tell you how much I enjoy your blog. I read your post a while back about some "friends" given you some criticism about what you're doing here, but I think it's so refreshing--it's clear you are just having fun with the clothes and aren't taking yourself too seriously in the photos--I love them! I really enjoy seeing how you style your outfits and find it very inspirational when shopping my own closet, even though I don't feel I am as fashion-forward as you. I found out about Summerbird because of your blog--so thank you! What a great resource that is! All the best to you and keep 'em coming!

  11. Congrats on reaching your goal my dear! WOW! You set your mind to it, worked hard and did it! It's funny that you used greens as an inspiration. I was thinking on NYD that I wasn't going to have collard greens and black eyed peas ;(
I love all the pictures of you in "greens" though. I don't think I realized how much of that color you wear... but keep doing it because you it's a great color on you!

    1. Thank you dear friend. I didn't realize I wore than much green either, but I guess after you photograph yourself for a year, you are bound to wind up with a few repeats, no? ;) xx
